To Jodie White who jumped out of a plane and completed a free-fall skydive on behalf of Julia's House and in the process raised £335 which she presented to us at the hospice. A very well done to you Jodie.
To Gill Watson and all her family and friends for raising funds through a tribute night to her late husband, Tony. The event was a great success, what a fabulous idea! Thank you also to Olivia (pictured below) and Sam for emptying their money boxes to donate their money to Julia's House.
Bronwyn Ebsworth who instead of having birthday presents for her 10th birthday, asked her friends to make donations to Julia's House and raised £250. Thank you so much, Bronwyn !
Rosemary, Priscilla, Di, Donna, Carole & Christine, all members of Cheddington Court Golf Club, raised £ 470 for Julia's House at the Langport Walking Festival in July. A big thank you ladies and well done to you!
Thank you to Robert and Linda Moore who generously accepted donations for Julia's House, instead of gifts, at their recent wedding. A big thank you to you and all of your guests and congratulations on your wedding. We wish you a life time of happiness.
Angela Grinstead presented a cheque for £2,000 to Joy Desborough, a Julias House trustee, as a result of the May Buckland Goose Auction( see picture below ). This fantastic donation was handed over at a barbecue held by Tim Scarisbrick and Angela, the ex-landlords of the Gaggle of Geese at Buckland Newton who are great supporters of ours. A huge thank you to everybody involved.
Helen Cakebread and Phil Smith got married recently and asked all their guests to make donations to Julia's House in lieu of wedding presents. We cannot thank Mr and Mrs Smith and their wedding guests enough for their generosity.The total raised was £513. Rather than a cheque presentation photograph we thought everybody would rather see a wedding photograph!!
Anne Alcock who completed the 'Portland 10' Road Race on 107 minutes and 27 seconds. Very impressive!! She also raised £465 for Julia's House in the process, with the help of her sponsors, Carpet Fresh Cleaning Services, Portland Bunkers Intnl/Aegean Oil, R.Paisley & Sons, The Corner House Inn and oil and Water Ltd.
Mr and Mrs Jeff who recently donated £100 from the members of Kinson Conservative Club. From 2007 this group has raised a welcome £350, a fantastic amount.
A huge well done to Damon Etheridge, Sales Development and Support Manager at Liverpool Victoria. He has succeeded in losing 3 stone on a sponsored diet over 6 months and finally reached his target of 11st 8lb, as can be seen in the after picture below! In the process he has raised a fantastic £615 and an additional £500 is being donated by LV through their matching scheme.
Bournemouth East Cliff Rotary Club for their donation of £500.
The Chem-Dry UK LTD Charity Auction www.chemdry.co.uk managed to raise a tremendous £14,116 in aid of Julia's House. Held at the Carlton Hotel our sincere thanks go out to everyone who participated in such a sucessful event.
A Concert for Julia - Rod & Chris Fletcher raised a whopping £2,750 back in May. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all those involved, with special mention to Rod and Chris, Jays Fish & Chips and Barclays Premier for their support of the event.
The concert was a great success with one of the Acts, Swedish group Real Life Friends, taking time out to visit the hospice and also perform for the children there.
Garry Towers who recently celebrated his 50th birthday and asked all his guests to make donations to Julia's House instead of giving him presents. He raised a staggering £1538.
Jes Howe , who is one of our fathers, recently ran in the Puddletown Half marathon with his brother -in-law Nick Mort. They have raised a fantastic £900 so far. Well done to both of you, (Photo to follow)
A big thank you to The Foresters’ Fund for Children, who have generously approved a grant of £903 towards a dining set and special chairs for our Hospice.
Brian Heath
On Saturday 5th July Brian undertook a solo Drumarathon, which exceeded 6 hours, at the St Leonards Hospital Open Day, on behalf of Julia's House.
At 86 years young this was quite an achievement!! Thank you Brian for your efforts and the sponsorship money is still coming in.
Lyme Regis Rotary Club very kindly donated £450 which was presented at a lovely lunch at the Alexander Hotel in Lyme Regis. There were a number of charities who received cheques and it all goes to show how much the Rotary Club do in fundraising for others.
First Corfe Mullen Brownie Pack
Big thank you to the First Corfe Mullen Brownie pack who visited the hospice and donated £150 from their fundraising efforts.
They were a lovely, lively group, and very beautiful too, as you can see from the photo below!!
A huge well done to Michael Joyce and the Scott Arms in Kingston
Michael Joyce of Kingston, organised a fantastic evening of bands at the Scott Arms in Kingston and put in a lot of hard work, he bullied cajoled and persuaded many people into helping him and raised an amazing £2,065. What is more he is a sucker for punishment and plans to do it all again later in the year!
Special mentions must go to his family, - particularly his twins Rebecca and Elizabeth who energetically collected money in a bucket, dressed as fairies, we believe!! Also big thanks go to Steve Roper the landlord of the Scott Arms, who in Michael's words 'could not do enough to help'.

Thank you to Helen Pollock, John and Hilary Bennett for their joint 60th Birthday celebration for Julia's House
Thank you to Helen, John and Hilary for choosing to celebrate their 60th birthday and raise funds for Julia's House instead of buying presents. They held a birthday Barn Dance at Willowbed Hall, Chickerell and invited the congregation of St Mary's, Chickerell and other friends and family.
Thanks to the Bride Valley band, who played at the birthday party and also support Julia's House.

Bryanston School
A huge thank you goes to the parents and pupils of Bryanston School who raised an incredible £6,782 with a charity weekend comprising a number of events at the school. A very special mention goes to Charlotte and Ben the Head Boy and Head Girl who organised the whole event and chose Julia's House as their charity of choice. They visited the hospice and put an awful lot of hard work into the event and were a great credit to the school.
The Hyde Brass Band
The Hyde Brass Band raised £500 for Julia's House as part of the proceeds of a charity concert held at the Regent's Centre in Christchurch, attended by our Chairman Mike Wise.
Mark Fletcher. the Director of the Band, visited the hospice to present the cheque to Mike Bartlett, the Development Director of Julia's House
Jo Kenny and the Charity Casino Night
Many thanks for the donation of £1000 raised at the Charity Casino Night. Thanks, too, to local companies: Southern Sound & Leisure, Argos, Daniel Roses Jewellers, Lambs Green and Derek J Rolls Estate Agents and to everyone who supported the event.
RALSA
The Regional Accredited Language Schools Association has twenty one schools and colleges in its membership, mostly situated in Bournemouth. They very kindly made a donation to Julia's House of £500 which was raised at various fundraising activities organised for their international students.
BLACKMORE VALE LIONS
The Blackmore Vale Lions who presented Julia's House with a cheque for £2,000 raised by a sponsored walk of the entire 'Stour Valley Way' from Hegistbury Head to Stourhead (64 miles) in 4 days.eight members completed the whole walk; Ian Simpson (Club President),Mike Marks, David Birt, Colin France, Barbara McLeod, Geoff Nash, Jan Nash, Peter Oswick. Bill Reed (aged 78) and the Brenda Birt joined them for part of the walk.
What a fantastic achievement and a huge thank you to you all for the time and effort you put into the walk and raising the money.
A BIG THANKYOU TO JANET COX OF MUDEFORD
JANET VERY KINDLY DONATED A BEAUTIFUL LARGE EASTER EGG IN MEMORY OF HER SON GARY MITCHELL WHO SADLY DIED ON 23RD OF APRIL 2006. THE EGG WAS GIVEN TO ONE OF THE CHILDREN WHO USE THE HOSPICE AND HIS FAMILY AND WAS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED.

Thank you to Reed Employment in Poole and Bournemouth who presented Julia's House with over 180 Easter Eggs collected from their very generous clients. They were given to the children and their siblings and those left over were used for fundraising raising an amazing £490.
