Make a Will Week
Free Wills in Dorset - 22nd-28th September 2008
About Make a Will Week
Have you got a Will? Is it up-to-date? If the answer to either question is no, then make sure that you don't miss this opportunity. Take part in the Julia's House "Make a Will Week" 2008.
For the second year running Julia's House has teamed up with solicitors from around Dorset to offer you a free Will-making service for one week in September. The scheme's objective is to raise the awareness of the benefits of having a Will whilst also securing valuable donations for the hospice and promoting the need for gifts in Wills to Julia's House.
Anyone wishing to take up the offer can simply contact a participating solicitor by telephone during the "Make a Will Week" and arrange an initial appointment to discuss their wishes, it couldn't be easier. This appointment can be at anytime convenient to both the solicitor and the client and does not need to take place during the Will Week. The scheme covers only standard and “mirror” wills and more complicated tax and estate advice may be subject to a charge, this will all be confirmed by the solicitor at the first meeting. A donation to Julia’s House, in lieu of the professional fees, will be encouraged at this initial meeting and will be very gratefully received.
We are very grateful for the support of those solicitors who have agreed to take part in the scheme and the funds we receive will be valuable for our community team of 65 nurses and carers who will be able to provide more hours of support to over 80 children and their families across Dorset through greater community and hospice care.
It is of great importance for all adults to have a Will written and updated, particularly at times of your life when things maybe changing and leaving a bequest in your will means that you can really make a difference to the lives of the children at Julia's House. The average cost of having a solicitor write up a will can vary greatly between £100 and £200, so, why not participate and take advantage of a free Will-writing service to either create a new Will or update an existing and please do remember Julia's House when getting your affairs in order.
Look out for our posters and flyers which will include the name and contact details of those solicitors who have agreed to take part in the scheme. Alternatively, follow the link at the bottom of this page and get in touch with a local solicitor during the Julia's House "Make a Will Week" from the 22nd - 28th September and please do donate during your initial meeting, on behalf of the children and the parents who will ultimately benefit, may we thank you.
