Benefits
Adopting a charity of the year can be beneficial to both the charity and the company
Good PRSo much publicity can be generated from a relationship with a charity partner. For example, your donation might help pay for a vital piece of equipment, an important nursing position or even a room at the hospice. Any fundraising or other support that your staff undertake could be newsworthy. Our experienced PR team will be able to help you to maximise these opportunities, by writing press releases, arranging photoshoots and distributing stories among local media with whom Julia’s House already has good relations and among national media too. |

Team BuildingIt can be exceptionally motivating to a workforce to know that their employers are concerned about their local community and to know that they are collectively benefiting a good cause such as Julia’s House. The fundraising itself can be great fun and can really bring teams together. For example, Rok, “the nation’s local builder”, held a silly sports day to raise funds for Julia’s House where each department dressed in sports uniform and took part in school sports day activities to raise money for Julia’s House. |
Corporate Social Responsibility
Your staff and customers will want to know that your company is taking Corporate Social Responsibility seriously. But quite apart from enhancing your company’s image, you will want the satisfaction of knowing that your company is playing its part in putting something back into the local community. Julia’s House is not an enormous organisation, but a small, effective local charity and a small amount of support for Julia’s House can make a significant impact on the
lives of children throughout Dorset. Consequently, by supporting Julia’s House your company can play a significant part in its local community.
Tangible support
Being a local charity, your staff and customers will be able to see exactly what their support is helping to achieve. They will be able to visit the hospice when we have our regular open days and we can help you to communicate to them the tangible results of the company’s support. For example, Bournemouth based finance company, The Richmond Group, have pledged to raise funds through payroll giving to fund a key nursing position. Every three months employees receive a letter in their payslip from the nurse to explain a little about the care that she has provided in the last quarter.
